Round Dhaulagiri Trek  (20 Days)
Round Dhaulagiri Trek Trek in Dhaulagiri, is a various trek and fascinating, which looks little like whole trek of Nepal by its environments. Since the fertile village down till the valleys parches and barrens. Dense forests down of the valley in departure, to arrive in snow bounds high valley. This trek permit to observe excellent and rare panoramas on the Dhaulagiris and the Annapurnas. The approaching villages are particulars and their people who had completely keep their authentic, are always surprise to meet the trekkers in their isolated region. A trek with climbing of the Thapa Peak in Dhaulagiri high mountain having an excellent physical condition and a good practice. The trekking takes place in a wild nature, little frequented trek, passing by Tibetan villages situated the long of the river Myagdi Khola. We are in the heart of the wild massif of the Dhaulagiri dominated by the more of 7000 and 8000 of which the Dhaulagiri 1, that culminates to 8091m. We arrive until the Thapa Peak while passing by the pass of French pass 5400m and the Thapa Pass 5240m. We come back while recovering a part of the itinerary of the great tour of the Annapurnas.

Tips for guides and porters.

Note: All participants have to give a copy of their insurance, with the address, tel and fax number of insurance company. This insurance has to cover the helicopter rescue in case of accident or sickness. In case of your insurance don't cover helicopter rescue, you have to fill a form in Kathmandu and make agreement that you will pay yourself the amount of expenses paid by Nepal Assemble Treks for your helicopter rescue or research. Without this agreement, you cannot participate in trek.

In The trek
the guide is allowed to change the itinerary, depending of the weather, climate and the physical condition of participants. Each participant who stop his trek or make changes any form of program may not ask any money compensation to the agency.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1300 m/4264 ft]

You will be welcomed by the boss of  company at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu (1300m)after completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our company display board at the arrival gate. You will be transfer to Hotel. After check in, you will visit our office; meet your trekking guide as well as other participants. Later in the evening we will organize a "Welcome Dinner" at an excellent Tourist Restaurant where you will enjoy with a fine meal. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 : Kathmandu sightseeing.

Full day of sightseeing in the very famous capital, Kathmandu. We will be visit the famous heritage sites in Kathmandu.


We will start from your hotel by a morning walk in the blocked alleyways of Kathmandu. Your first contact with the smiling Nepalese people. We begin to cross the nice area of Thamel, full of nice shops, bars and restaurants.

We will see during this walk many temples and stupas: it will be for you the beginning of religious lessons, making the difference between Buddhists stupas and Hindu temples. You will discover with a great surprise how these two religions live together.

We will make a stop at Thahiti Tole, then in front of Kathesimbhu stupa. Always meeting statues and local shops (suits, spices, incenses, and so on) and listening the noise of bells (and of horns), we will see Asan Tole with wonderful Hindu temples. Then Indra Chowk and Pyaphal Tole. After 2 hours of walk and of wonder, we will arrive at Durbar Square.

Kathmandu Durbar Square situated the center of Kathmandu where you can see the House of Living Goddess “KUMARI” Kasthamandup temple” Said that was built from single tree in 16th century, big bell-big drams, erotic carving in old temple, old palace etc. All the most important monuments of the city are in this area. You will be filled with wonder by all these numerous such majestic and so ancient temples registered in the Heritage of the UNESCO. It is possible to spend hours, sat on the walk of one of these monuments, admiring architecture, considering the animation of places, dreaming. We will take lunch at the top of a restaurant, with a great plunging view.


You will begin the afternoon by another walk in the streets of Kathmandu, to look at the real face of this city, with local buildings and narrow streets. Then we will arrive at Swayambunath Stupa (Monkey Temple). Swayambunath stupa has it that Manjushree, found of Kathmandu valley, and discovered the lotus of ancient valley lake on which site the great stupa of Swayambunath was later built. The omni sighted stare of Buddha greets visitors & residents alike compassion. This is one of the oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, which has been registered in UNESCO heritage side.  It is said that Swayambunath Stupa is more than 2,000 years old, and it symbolizes knowledge. At the summit of this hill, the painted eyes on all four sides symbolize the all-seeing power of Buddha. It is an important Buddhist place where pilgrims from all over the world.

From this place we can have a wonderful panoramic view on all the capital. So great at the end of the day, with the sunset. We will come back hotel by bus.

Evening: Time for you to prepare the trek and we introduce in front of you our crew members. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03:  Kathmandu - Beni (830m) 8 hrs drive.
 After having a morning breakfast we will drive to Beni (830m) from Kathmandu via Pokhara, which takes about 8 hours. The Drive passes through the mountains along the banks of Trisuli and Marsyandi River to Pokhara. Drive further from Pokhara deeper into the mountains with the magnificent views of Annapurna Himalayas. Driving further along the banks of Mardi River, we continue to Beni. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 04:  Beni - Babichaur (1000m) 6 hrs walk.
After having a morning breakfast our trek begins from today. We continue trekking along the Kali Gandaki River. Head toward Myagdi khola.  Cross the suspension bridges. Pass by the villages of Mangalghat, Singa, Tatopani, finally reaching at Babichaur (1000m). It takes six hours walk. Overnight at Babichaur.

Day 05:  Babichaur - Dharapani (1565m) 7 hrs walk.
Tonight you will camp in Dharapani (1565m) and the Dhaulagiri is no more so far. Today, our trail crosses the terraced hills, Shahashadhara village Dudh khola ratorunga village then reaches Dharapani and spend a night there. It takes seven hours walk.

Day 06:  Dharapani - MurI (1850m) 7 hrs walk.
After breakfast, our trek start from Dharapani to Muri (1850m). It takes six hours walk. Today, the path goes steep up to Muri (1850m), where the Mt. Dhaulagiri and other mountains appear clearly. From Muri, enjoy the magnificent views of Mt Dhaulagiri and others.

Day 07:  Muri - Boghara (2050m) 7 hrs walk.
After breakfast, trek from Muri to Boghara (2050m). It takes seven hours walk. From Muri the trail is easy and goes down for few hours but before to reach Boghara you have to climb a steep path for a couple of hours.  The trail descends down before reaching Phedi and then the trail ascends up until Boghara.

Day 08:  Boghara - Dhoban (2630m) 6 hrs walk.
After morning breakfast trek start to Dhoban (2630m). It takes six hours walk. Today the path is quite difficult and sometimes you will need the help of the ropes.  The trail descends down to a small ridge then crosses forest to Jyardan. Finally, cross the rocky part to arrive at Dhoban.

Day 09:  Dhoban - Italian Base camp (3500m) 6 hrs walk.
After breakfast, trek start to Italian Base Camp (3500m). It takes six hours walk.Today you will reach the Italian Base Camp where you will camp just in front of the West wall of the Dhaulagiri. Passing through beautiful forest we rapidly gain altitude and mountains burst out all around. Since, we are rapidly gaining altitude, keep yourself hydrated and take it easy.  

Day 10:  Rest & Acclimatization day
A rest day for acclimatization. Since there is little exploring to be had, this is a day to relax because tomorrow we will have a tough day. Exercise, move around, make some hiking and properly acclimatize with the altitude.

Day 11:  Italian Base camp - Glacier camp (4250m) 5 hrs walk.
After have a breakfast our trek start from Italian Base Camp to Glacier Camp (4250m). It takes five hours walk.Today, After crossing the first glacier, probably using a rope in a couple of tricky spots, we climb onto the main glacier. The surroundings are spectacular, which makes up for the rough and dangerous trail.  The glacier crossing would require the use of rope. 

Day 12:  Glacier CampDhaulagiri Base camp (4650m) 4 hrs walk.
After breakfast our trek start  Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4650m). It takes fours walk. Today we reach the Dhaulagiri Base Camp. Soon the rough rubble gives way to the smooth ice of the white part of the glacier. We climb steadily to the rough and chilling but spectacular Dhaulagiri Base Camp.  On the way, enjoy the magnificent north face of Dhaulagiri I. 

Day 13:  Acclimatization day
We will be constantly at an altitude of 5000 - 6000 m in the next days, hence so this day is essential. Even when we're acclimatizing, health experts recommend us to stay active and moving during the rest day too instead of being idle.

Day 14:  Dhaulagiri Base Camp - French Col (4840m) 4 hrs walk.
After having a warms breakfast trek start to French Col (4840m). It takes fours walk. Today, Hidden Valley Getting off the glacier above the base camp often requires a rope, but once over the steep moraine walls we are in safer and gentler country. After a breathless climb to the top of French Col.

Day 15:  Hidden Valley Camp (5000m).
Make some rest. Acclimatize. Explore the surrounding peaks.

Day 16:  Hidden Valley - Yak Kharka (4200m) 6 hrs walk.
After breakfast our trek start to Yak Kharka (4200m). It takes six hours walk. Today, after climbing over the 5200m Dhampus Pass, we traverse avalanche prone slopes and then descend steeply to Yak Kharka. Then trail descends down until we reach at Yak kharka.

Day 17:  Yak Kharka - Jomsom (2715m) 7 hrs walk.
After breakfast our trek start from Yak Kharka to Jomsom (2,715m). It takes eight hours walk. More steep descent leads to Marpha and a well-deserved beer over lunch. Tackling along the cairns, we proceed along the snowy path. After a few hours of walking in the snow, we pass the top of the Thapa Pass. From Marpha, we further head toward Jomsom to catch our next day's flight to Pokhara. 

Day 18:  Jomsom to Pokhara by flight
After morning breakfast we check in the airport to fly back to Pokhara, a 30-min dramatic flight to Pokhara between gorge of the two huge mountains, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. On arrival at Pokhara airport, guide will transfer to the lakeside hotel. We make use of the rest afternoon for discovering the beautiful Pokhara valley leisurely. While we walk along the bank of Fewa Lake, the second biggest lake of Nepal enjoying the Fish Tail Mountain reflected in the lake. You can also take a boat around the Fewa Lake or just can take an hour's walk to the World Peace Pagoda. Evening time, we spend exploring around the lakeside.

Day 19:  Drive to Kathmandu, 6 hrs drive.

Today, after breakfast, we make a 200 kilometers drive back to Kathmandu. Better to hold on the left pane of the vehicle to enjoy the scenery through the route. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. You can spend the evening leisurely, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping and celebrate dinner together with Nepal Assemble Trekking staffs.

Day 20: last day of yours trip in Nepal

We are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos If you have more time. You ll be transfer to the Airport before 2 hours of flight with nice farewell. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
